Introducing the Fetal Monitoring Academy!

I’m delighted to be able to share my newest creation with you – the Fetal Monitoring Academy. Over the past few months I have been working hard to pull together a comprehensive set of learning resources about fetal monitoring. Everything that was previously in either the Fetal Monitoring for Maternity Professionals course AND the Fetal Monitoring for Birth Workers course has been merged, a few lessons from Fetal Monitoring: The Basics have been added, and there is an entirely new additional module!

My goal was to create something library like – a place where people who work with women as they make decisions about fetal monitoring (or try to make sense of their experiences with it after their births) can go to find reliable evidence about each of the different types of fetal monitoring. There are also lessons about how to read and interpret evidence and how to have evidence-based, decision-supporting conversations. The Academy is already jam packed with hours and hours of high-value learning. And the Academy will continue to grow over time with the addition of new resources in response to the needs of Academy members.

Unlike the previous courses that had a distinct start and end time, the Fetal Monitoring Academy is offered as a subscription. You will have immediate access once you sign up, and will be able to continue to access all the resources in the Academy for as long as you decide to continue to stay subscribed. There is no risk that you will run out of time to finish everything, as you can drop back in any time you need to find something relevant to your current challenges!

The really exciting bit…

A common end-of-course experience for previous participants was – wow, I learned a lot, but what do I do with all that information now?

Problem solved. Academy members now have access to an exclusive and secure online community space to support each other and be supported by me, as we all figure out how to reduce the amount of nonsense out there about fetal monitoring. It’s called the Common Room. I hold a monthly live MeetUp where you can come chat with me and other members (and it is always recorded in case that time doesn’t work for you but you don’t want to miss out).

There is a lot of work to be done to close the gap between evidence and practice when it comes to fetal monitoring. If you want to be part of a group of people who are figuring out how to do that – the Common Room is where you want to be. The Fetal Monitoring Academy has the resources you need, and the Common Room has the connection and support required to apply what you have learned to the work you do. I believe the Common Room will become a game changing space once we all get warmed up!

The doors to the Academy are open for a limited time – enrolments close on February 26, 2025. That’s not some made up bullshit marketing thing. This work is so vitally important and urgent that I need to get a group of people all lined up and headed in the right direction at the same time, rather than having new people wandering in every few days and needing orientation from myself and other Academy members. I’ll be opening for enrolments twice a year – so if you opt out this time, the next opportunity will be in August, 2025.

As a reward for people who are quick off the mark – I’m offering an early bird discount. If you enrol before midnight (AEST) February 19, 2025 – you’ll pay just under half price for the annual membership fee. And you get to keep this price for as long as you stay signed up.
