Birth Small Talk

Fetal monitoring information you can trust

It’s finally here and ready for you!

After months of behind the scenes work with designers and suppliers, trialling different options, and learning how to use Shopify – I’m beyond excited to introduce you to the Birth Small Talk merchandise range. The shop is now open so you can go explore and make your mind up about whether to buy just one thing, or one of EVERYTHING!

You’ll find:

  • A really sturdy canvas tote bag with an evidence-based message
  • A zombie proof* insulated drink bottle sporting the Birth Small Talk logo
  • A retractable badge holder to hold your access card so you can swipe your way through doors with confidence
  • A journal to jot down your plans to overthrow the patriarchy
  • A matching pen (sold separately but you should get one, or two, with the journal as they really do deserve to go together)

(*not tested with real zombies)

AND

This stunning and comfortable Tee shirt.

If you are tired of the nonsense about CTG monitoring (coercion rather than consent, ignorance of the evidence, repetition of the myth that it will work if you try hard enough, and oppression of midwifery practice and knowledge) and are ready to get loud about it – pick the tote bag and the journal for starters. These proudly display the “CTGs don’t save lives” message. It is guaranteed to kick start some robust conversations at your next fetal monitoring study day or antenatal visit!

I recognise that some people are not yet ready for those robust conversations but still want to support my work, and be identifiable to others in the Birth Small Talk inner circle. No secret handshake required! Grab the tee shirt, drink bottle, pen, and the badge holder. These have the logo on them. People in the know will instantly recognise this and identify you as someone they can trust to provide respectful maternity care. People who aren’t yet ready to learn the reality of the CTG monitoring myth won’t have a clue what it means and will leave you alone.

If you can’t decide what you want – then you want the Ultimate Disruptors Pack. It contains one of everything – AND saves you $50 off the purchase price if you were to buy each thing separately.

What will you buy? Is there something else you would love to see available for sale? Let me know!

Please note: I’m only able to ship to addresses in Australia at present. The cost of international shipping was $75 which is beyond ridiculous. If there is sufficient demand – I’ll figure out a way to make this a far more affordable option in the future.

The Birth Small Talk merchandise range has arrived! Here are three great reasons to buy:

  1. All the products are great quality. I personally selected products I was proud to put my name on and would love to own and use myself.
  2. Displaying your Birth Small Talk merchandise marks you out as a person who is 100% committed to respectful maternity care and evidence-based decision making. Women will feel safe knowing you know the evidence. Other Birth Small Talk members will find you easily and before you know it – you’ll have a local collection of like-minded folks to work together on making maternity care better.
  3. You get to support my work so I can continue to provide free educational content about fetal monitoring, reaching as many people who need that information as possible.

  1. Hey Kirsten,

I totally want me some of that swag. But sadly (on soooo many levels) I live in an international shipping zone. But actually have a friends in Oz you could ship to. Let me check in with them and see if that is at all feasible or if I should just wait until our next trip down there.

Will bring some of my swag for you when I come!

  2. Well done Kirsten!

Maybe stickers would be an affordable way for us overseas people to show our support for your work🤷‍♀️

    Thank you
